The Ideal rifle was never an industrial rifle, much to the dismay of its creator, Etienne Mimard. Although thousands of copies were produced, it has the unique distinction of having been produced by hand for nearly a hundred years. To achieve this, several hundred workers, truly skilled gunsmiths, worked within the largest hunting weapons factory France has ever known. Through their expertise and passion, they raised the prestige of French gunmaking to great heights. Thanks to them, the Ideal rifle remains the most perfect and beautiful rifle in the world to this day.
