Know-how

Our Manufrance range of walking and hiking poles is handcrafted in France, perpetuating more than a century of ancestral traditions. It uses an inexhaustible raw material, namely chestnut shoots (a rot-proof wood), a natural element cut in our French forests (Isère, Périgord, etc.). This wood meets the requirements for the manufacture of our canes thanks to its perfect characteristics: stiffness, robustness and lightness. All stages of manufacturing have remained unchanged for more than a century and comply with the codes of traditional carpentry: selection and cutting of the wood, manual peeling of the wood, drying and sorting, bending and straightening by hand, sanding and washing, then fitting the tip, and finally the final finishing touches (engraving, flaming and natural varnishing) which give life and soul to unique and inimitable canes and poles. Each copy finally undergoes a visual inspection to ensure its conformity and quality, ensuring the product in your hands exceptional durability. Finally, the composition and the various manufacturing stages meet the most virtuous environmental standards, guaranteeing an eco-responsible product from development to manufacturing and recycling.
