The Manufrance wooden oyster wedge: simple, effective and ideal for opening oysters safely without hurting yourself.

Guaranteed efficiency with this kitchen utensil made from French beech wood that will make opening oysters a breeze! Made in France.

No more risk of injuries or cuts by using this oyster clog specially designed to protect the hand from possible slipping of the knife when opening oysters.

Well positioned at the edge of the table, you will be opening oysters at all speeds.

To use this uniquely designed kitchen accessory perfectly, here are some explanations on how to use it: wedge the shoe at the edge of the table, thanks to the 15 mm stop underneath. Insert the oyster into the hollow of the shoe, it is perfectly wedged and well executed. Push an oyster knife blade into the shell joint: the blade works downwards, under the wooden protection, never towards the hand. If you make a bad move, the knife will stick in the wood, and not in the hand. Finally, insert the knife into the shell, cut the muscle and lift the upper shell by detaching the chair from the top.

This kitchen accessory will quickly become indispensable for oyster lovers looking to create the most beautiful seafood platter. The Manufrance oyster clog accepts all types of oysters. It is made in France from French beech wood, sourced from fairly managed forests and carries the PEFC and FSC certification. The wood used is untreated and not bleached with chlorine.

Care instructions: Clean with a damp sponge and soapy water, then dry immediately with a clean cloth. Caution: Not dishwasher safe. High-quality, meticulous, and 100% French handcrafted.

    Know-how

The safe oyster opening shoe is a traditional object from the Channel and Brittany coasts. It is, along with many other objects, a direct heir to French culinary heritage. Often, it was not found, but most of the time, it was still made of plastic. In collaboration with a local craftsman expert in boissellerie (the art of making small wooden objects intended for home furnishings or decoration), we have revised and improved it to make it a unique object. The Manufrance wooden oyster shoe is now a registered design, easy to use and guaranteeing the safety of the user in all circumstances thanks to the presence on the shoe of a receptacle to hold the oyster and a 15 mm stop to firmly wedge the shoe at the edge of the table. No more injuries during traditional festive meals with friends or family. Very high quality, it is made of solid wood in a single piece, untreated and not bleached with chlorine. Beech wood from our French forests and benefiting from dual PEFC and FSC certification, guaranteeing that the wood used to manufacture the Manufrance oyster clog complies with sustainable and responsible forest management procedures. This product also benefits from the Origine France Garantie label. By choosing this product, you are supporting companies that manufacture in France. The oyster clog won an award and received the bronze medal at the LĂ©pine competition in 2022 in the tableware, lifestyle, and equipment category.
